A wonderful (very near) pair of 19th century Arts and Crafts 'Pass' chairs by Ernest Gimson. Provenance: W.R.S. Bathurst at Pinbury Park, Gloucestershire. Constructed in Ash, raised on turned rounded legs supported by a series of stretchers. Ladderback backrest and shaped elbow rests with pass through supports. Later rushed seats. Overall condition is very good. Both chairs have probably lost a little height which explains the later castors. Very elegant chairs and lovely pale patina/ colour.
